Gift card regions explained: always pick the right country

Almost every major gift card is region-locked. An Amazon.fr card can only be redeemed on a French Amazon account; a US Steam card only tops up US-dollar wallets. This is not a limitation of BuyUSGiftCards — it is how the brands themselves issue their cards.

The simple rule

Always buy the card for the country of the account where it will be redeemed. The store account's country is what matters — not where you physically are.

Currency is the second check

Cards are denominated in local currency: euros in France, pounds in the UK, yen in Japan. Our country pages show amounts in the correct local currency, so what you see is exactly what the recipient gets.
